Principal Building Performance Engineer

Are you passionate about creating sustainable, low-carbon buildings that shape the future of the built environment in the UK? We're seeking a highly skilled Principal Building Performance Engineer to join our Sustainability Team.

As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the decarbonisation of the built environment in the UK, utilising Passivhaus principles on large-scale commercial projects. You'll apply innovative design strategies, energy-efficient technologies, and leading construction practices to create environmentally friendly buildings that are commercially viable.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement low-carbon building solutions using evidence-backed modelling software.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and sustainability experts to create sustainable, low-carbon buildings.
  • Oversee the Building Physics production on diverse projects, including schools, universities, commercial offices, museums, laboratories, and large-scale residential developments.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in building materials, energy performance, thermal comfort, overheating, daylighting, indoor air quality, and Part L 2021.
  • Stay up-to-date with Net Zero Carbon strategies and roadmaps, as well as BREEAM, WELL, Nabers, and LEED standards.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience using evidence-backed modelling software to design low or zero-carbon buildings.
  • Degree qualified in a relevant Architectural, Environmental, Physics, or Building Services field.
  • Familiarity with Net Zero Carbon strategies and roadmaps, as well as BREEAM, WELL, Nabers, and LEED standards.
  • Good overall knowledge of building materials, energy performance, thermal comfort, overheating, daylighting, indoor air quality, and Part L 2021.
