Research Associate in AI Safety and Human-Centred Design

This role offers a unique opportunity to accelerate the adoption of human-centred approaches for the design and safety assurance of AI systems, with a focus on healthcare as a priority sector.
The successful candidate will have the chance to work with industry and regulators in the UK and internationally, and will be part of a multi-disciplinary centre that fosters collaboration and knowledge-sharing across different disciplines.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research on the use of AI in healthcare and develop human-centred approaches for the design and safety assurance of AI systems.
- Collaborate with industry and regulators to advance the CfAA research and explore new applications of human-centred AI.
- Develop and evaluate safety cases and safety arguments for AI systems.
- Work as part of a diverse and multidisciplinary team to advance the CfAA research and its applications.
- PhD or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Safety, Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, or a related field.
- Experience of researching the use of AI in healthcare and developing human-centred approaches for the design and safety assurance of AI systems.
- Competency to conduct human factors studies and develop safety cases and safety arguments.
- Ability to work as part of a diverse and multidisciplinary team.
