We are seeking a highly motivated Specialist Screening Practitioner to join our dedicated team at the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. In this rewarding role, you will play a vital part in assessing participants' fitness for colonoscopy, supporting patients throughout the screening process, and communicating results in a compassionate and clear manner.

As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery. Our comprehensive benefits package includes a competitive salary of £43,041 - £56,044 per annum, depending on experience, along with annual leave allowance, flexible working opportunities, and protected hours for health and wellbeing activities.

About the Role

You will receive comprehensive induction training and be required to attend a 3-day residential course to use the Bowel Cancer Screening database. This will equip you with the necessary skills to effectively utilise the database and contribute to the success of our bowel cancer screening programme.

Person Specification - Essential
  • Substantial post-qualification experience
  • Degree or willingness to work towards
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Experience of participating in clinical audit
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of specialist care
  • Basic IT skills
  • Able to manage and prioritise own workload
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Participated in service development and implementation of change
  • Ability to act on problems when identified
  • Ability to present written information in a logical manner
  • Good time management
  • Understanding of clinical governance and confidentiality
  • Willingness to undertake and successfully complete the Specialist Screening Practitioner course and any other training identified by the national programme
  • A good understanding of the national bowel cancer screening programme
  • Ability to travel to different geographical locations across the Trust footprint in line with service needs
  • Experience of using databases
  • ENB 998 (teaching and assessors course) or equivalent
