This full-time substantive position offers an exciting opportunity for professionals to provide high-quality mental health care to adults with severe and enduring mental health problems.
The successful candidate will be based at the Irwell Unit, Fairfield General Hospital, where they will work closely with other teams and consultants to ensure coherent and high-quality mental health care for adults in the Bury area. The post holder will also contribute to service development, attending local and divisional meetings as necessary.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise as a consultant psychiatrist, working collaboratively with junior doctors, advanced practitioners, and specialist doctors. You will be expected to provide high-quality patient care, manage complex cases, and participate in educational supervision of basic trainees and specialist registrars.
To be eligible for this position, applicants must be on the GMC's Specialist Register or within six months of completing their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Adult Psychiatry. A higher psychiatric training qualification or equivalent is also required.
As a Consultant Psychiatrist with Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, you can expect a competitive salary and benefits package, including opportunities for professional development and additional work arrangements (negotiable).
