Job Title: Global Head of Risk Technology

Marex Spectron is a leading global financial services platform, providing essential liquidity, market access, and infrastructure services to clients in the energy, commodities, and financial markets. Our Risk Department plays a crucial role in identifying, assessing, and managing various risks that could impact the stability and profitability of our organization.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Global Head of Risk Technology to lead our Risk Management Technology Strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing our risk management technology infrastructure, ensuring it is robust, scalable, and adaptable to new business environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute the risk technology strategy, aligning it with our firm's broader business goals and incorporating innovative risk management solutions.
  • Document current technology architecture and plan and design future architecture, ensuring systems are prepared for evolving business and regulatory demands.
  • Lead the development of detailed functional plans for risk technology, ensuring all initiatives are aligned and contribute to long-term objectives for the Department.
  • Integrate risk management technology from acquired entities, ensuring smooth onboarding and system harmonization while maintaining adequacy of supervision.
  • Track risk technology dependencies across the firm, monitoring and managing development projects with Risk technology dependencies across various business units.
  • Drive and report on the pace of Risk technology development in alignment with project timelines and business priorities.
  • Work closely with Risk leadership, Central Technology, Strategy, Change, and broader business product leads.
  • Lead the integration of advanced technologies such as AI, machine learning, and data analytics into our Risk Management framework to enhance risk monitoring and mitigation capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, working with legal, compliance, and audit teams to ensure that all risk technology solutions comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing team of risk technology professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  • Background in Financial Services Technology, preferably within Risk Management.
  • Exposure to a wide range of technology relevant to the financial services risk management, including Risk Analytics, Trade and Market Data, Quantitative and Scenario based modelling.
  • Product Development Experience in an Agile environment.
  • Knowledge of wholesale financial services, including clearing, broking, market making, and structured products.
  • Knowledge of relevant processes, including trade lifecycle, operational, and risk processes.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, network, and influence others.
