Global Head of Risk Technology

Marex, a leading global financial services platform, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead its Risk Technology function. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing the firm's Risk Management Technology Strategy, ensuring that our operations are within acceptable risk tolerance levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute the risk technology strategy, aligning risk technology with the Firm's broader business goals and incorporating innovative risk management solutions.
  • Document current technology architecture, creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation of the existing risk technology infrastructure for both internal and external use.
  • Plan and design future architecture, leading the development of scalable and adaptable future architecture, ensuring systems are prepared for evolving business and regulatory demands.
  • Integration of acquisitions infrastructure, overseeing the integration of risk management technology from acquired entities, ensuring smooth onboarding and system harmonization while maintaining adequacy of supervision.
  • Track risk technology dependencies across the firm, monitoring and managing development projects with Risk technology dependencies across various business units, ensuring alignment with the Firm's overall Risk Management strategy.
  • Ensure compliance, working with legal, compliance, and audit teams to ensure that all risk technology solutions comply with regulatory standards (e.g., Basel III, MiFID II), especially during periods of organizational change or acquisition.
  • Monitor technology advancements, staying updated on industry trends and advancements in risk technology to ensure the firm's infrastructure remains competitive and forward-looking.
Requirements:
  • Background in Financial Services Technology, preferably within Risk Management.
  • Exposure to a wide range of technology relevant to the financial services risk management (Risk Analytics, Trade and Market Data, Quantitative and Scenario based modelling).
  • Product Development Experience in an Agile environment.
  • Knowledge of wholesale financial services (clearing, broking, market making and structured products).
  • Knowledge of relevant processes (trade lifecycle, operational and risk processes).
  • Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.
  • Excels at building relationships, networking and influencing others.
