Deputy Nursery Manager Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated team in a great setting in Brentford, London as a Deputy Nursery Manager.

The nursery is a short walk from the overland station and is served well by local bus routes. They have excellent facilities, including outdoor space, and offer a range of extra-curricular activities, such as languages and music. The nursery has specific areas for babies, toddlers, and preschool children, allowing them to focus on the individual needs of the children and provide an environment that will enable them to thrive.

The nursery offers high-quality childcare with a nurturing and stimulating environment in a purpose-built setting, with on-site chefs preparing healthy seasonal menus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring high standards of care and education.
  • Oversee the planning and implementation of the curriculum, ensuring that it meets the needs of all children.
  • Foster strong relationships with children, parents, and staff to create a positive and collaborative community.
  • Support the Nursery Manager in managing staff, including training, mentoring, and performance reviews.
  • Handle administrative tasks, including scheduling, record-keeping, and managing budgets.
  • Step in for the Nursery Manager when they are absent, ensuring smooth operation and continuity of care.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Level 3 Early Years Qualification (or equivalent); higher qualifications preferred.
  • Significant experience in an early years setting, with previous management or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood education theories and practices.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
