Responsible Investment Manager

We are a leading FTSE 250 Financial Services company, specializing in retirement solutions. Our company is undergoing rapid growth, with over £4bn of assets annually. We are seeking a talented individual to join our expanding Investment Team as a Responsible Investment Manager on a permanent basis in our London office.

This is a challenging role that requires a high degree of responsibility and independence. As a Responsible Investment Manager, you will provide support to the Chief Investment Officer and the wider Investment team, facilitating the delivery of various responsible investment initiatives.

Reporting to the Head of Responsible Investment, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to support our corporate sustainability objectives and our vision to become Net Zero by 2050. You will be responsible for driving forward the Group's approach to stewardship activities and determining a strategic way forward for implementation.

Main Responsibilities
  • Working with the Head of Responsible Investment to oversee and implement responsible investment strategic objectives.
  • Contributing to and influencing the integration of responsible investment criteria into investment decision-making.
  • People management and day-to-day support of junior members of the responsible investment team.
In this role, you will:
  • Support the delivery of responsible investment projects and initiatives.
  • Stewardship: responsible for overseeing and engaging with issuers, asset managers, external initiatives, and other relevant stakeholders to meet our stewardship objectives.
  • Develop an understanding of the investment process and specifically how responsible investment and climate change form a part of that.
  • Support in overseeing and managing responsible investment projects.
Key Activities
  • Lead on coordinating and implementing stewardship activities with issuers, asset managers, and external membership platforms.
Requirements
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present investment matters in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver projects in a timely manner.
Experience
  • A number of years of relevant experience within Financial Services, Asset Management, Insurance Investment, or Investment Consulting.
  • Great working knowledge of stewardship across asset classes and broadly responsible investment.
