About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist to join our team at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Ophthalmology department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a team of ophthalmic professionals, and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist ophthalmic care to patients, including cataract and oculoplastic surgery
  • Lead a team of ophthalmic professionals, including consultants, registrars, and nurses
  • Develop and implement new services and treatments to improve patient outcomes
  • Contribute to the development of our ophthalmology department, including service redesign and quality improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with other departments and services to ensure seamless patient care

Requirements
  • Eligibility for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register
  • Full registration with the GMC
  • FRCOphth or equivalent CCST in Ophthalmology
  • Minimum 8 years clinical experience
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
