Ophthalmic Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist to join our team at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Ophthalmology department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist ophthalmic care to patients, including cataract and oculoplastic surgery
- Contribute to the development and implementation of ophthalmic services, including the management of age-related eye disease
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
- Participate in teaching and training activities to support the development of junior staff
- Contribute to the development of our ophthalmic research program

We are looking for a Consultant Ophthalmologist who possesses the following skills and qualifications:
- Eligibility for inclusion on the Specialist Register or eligible for inclusion within 6 months of interview date
- Full registration with the GMC
- FRCOPHTH or Equivalent CCST in Ophthalmology
- Minimum 8 years clinical experience
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Oculoplastic Fellowship or equivalent experience in Oculoplastic
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Effective teaching skills
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload and to delegate responsibility and supervise staff
