About the Team

The Care and Support Team at Powys County Council is a dynamic and supportive team that works together to provide a social work service to children, young people, and their families. As a Social Care Practitioner, you will be part of this team, working closely with colleagues and partners to ensure the safety and well-being of our clients.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and experience, working with a range of families and individuals in different circumstances. You will also receive regular supervision and support to help you meet the demands of the role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide a social work service to individual children and young people, working towards keeping them safe and enabling them to achieve their full potential.
  • Work as part of a team, undertaking tasks on a duty rotational basis, and providing cover for absent colleagues.
  • Foster and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and partners to ensure effective teamwork.
  • Identify risk issues related to individual children's circumstances and ensure safeguarding measures are in place to minimize risk.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with opportunities for career progression and professional development. This position also requires an Enhanced DBS Check.
