Job Title: Plumbing and Heating Systems Specialist

Location: Within a 50-mile radius of Stevenage

Salary: Competitive

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Working Pattern: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Summary of Role:

This role involves performing all aspects of work on domestic plumbing, gas, and heating systems within customer premises. Jobs include installing, maintaining, and repairing domestic plumbing, gas, and heating systems and fixtures. Fitting and repairing various household heating, gas, and water appliances. Inspecting and testing domestic gas and plumbing systems for safety, functionality, and code compliance.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Installations, inspections, diagnosing problems, testing, repair, and maintenance of all types of domestic heating systems, including boilers, pipes, and associated fixtures and equipment.
  • Preparing basic reports.
  • Identifying hazards, defects, and the need for replacement, adjustment, or repair to ensure compliance with agreed codes, laws, working practices, and health and safety.
  • Carrying out planned tasks in accordance with contract/agreed requirements on services and associated systems.
  • Ensuring compliance with agreed codes, legislation, and procedures, including health and safety.
  • Maintaining accurate records/documentation associated with your work.
  • Reporting problems/failures that may impact the organisation and/or its clients/customers to the Line manager.
  • Meeting your targets and contributing to those of the team as a whole.
  • Contributing towards the smooth running of the team.
  • Adhering to all organisation policies and procedures.
  • Working independently and as part of a team.
  • Taking responsibility for identifying variations to any schedule of works and reporting these to the applicable Works Manager.
  • Managing your own time effectively.

Personal Specification:

Essential Skills:

  • NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing and Domestic Heating Systems, including CCN1 core and appliances, CEN1, HTR1, WAT1, CKR1.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Registration on the Gas Safe Register or sufficient ACS Accreditations to attain Gas Safe Registration.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Requisite knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the trade.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations for this role.
  • Skills in the installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of residential heating systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Ability to deliver a great quality job on time.
  • Hardworking, punctual, and reliable.
  • Good work ethic.
  • Respectful towards clients and the public.
  • Good eye for detail.
  • Full satisfactory references.

Company Benefits:

All full-time Employees (excluding Directors) - based in the UK have a standard entitlement of 20 days paid holiday per year (April 1st - March 31st). The 8 UK Bank and Public holidays are in addition to the standard holiday entitlement. There is a pension scheme following a qualifying period.
