Behaviour Support Mentor Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Mentor to join our team at a SEN school in Barnet. As a Behaviour Support Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH) in a special unit.

About the School

Our school is committed to nurturing the talents and abilities of all students, providing a supportive environment where they can develop their ambitions. The school is equipped with an internal exclusion unit, which caters for students who have been temporarily excluded from mainstream lessons.

The Role
  • Full-time, long-term position supporting SEN students
  • De-escalate situations and work cooperatively with staff
  • Liaise with teachers, the pastoral team, and the behaviour support team
  • Implement programmes to prevent recurrence of negative behaviour
  • Work closely with families, carers, and external agencies
Requirements
  • Experience of supporting children and young people with behaviour needs
  • Resilience, a positive mindset, and a willingness to take on challenges
  • Legal right to work in the UK
