The Ministry of Defence seeks a highly skilled Aviation Training Officer to join its team at the Defence College of Technical Training. This role is responsible for developing and delivering training programs in advanced materials manufacturing and metalwork techniques for RAF personnel.

About the Role:

  • Develop and deliver training programs in aviation and airfield support equipment environment.
  • Participate in internal and external evaluation audits as required.
  • Ensure students are given a safety brief on their training environment and observe relevant fire, health and safety precautions and evacuation procedures.

Requirements:

  • Candidates should have served an apprenticeship or a relevant period of training and have obtained a Level 3, or equivalent, engineering qualification with practical experience in a related field.
  • Able to remain current in instructional techniques and personally arrange for observations to be undertaken by Learning Support staff.

Salary and Benefits:

The successful candidate will receive a salary of £34,300, which includes an additional £6,000 Recruitment and Retention Allowance (RRA). The RRA is subject to an annual review. The Ministry of Defence contributes £7,641 towards a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.

Working Arrangements:

The role requires a flexible working pattern, including full-time, part-time, and job share options. Alternative working patterns can be considered where it can be accommodated by the business.
