About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled EHV Cables Project Manager to join our team at Wood, a leading provider of engineering and construction services for the UK transmission and distribution sector. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing project management and delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, within budget, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Align project execution with Wood and client objectives, emphasizing high standards throughout.
  • Oversee project management and delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, within budget, and on schedule.
  • Develop and manage good working relationships with clients and sub-contractors.
  • Proactively resolve any site issues with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Manage design requirements and commercial budgets for EHV cable projects.
  • Experience working with NGED, SSEN, NGET, and other Distribution Network Operators.
  • Strong commercial and contractual awareness, including knowledge of NEC forms of contract and Street works requirements.
Requirements
  • Engineering qualification (HND / HNC) or equivalent industry track record.
  • Project management qualification Association for Project Management (APM) or similar.
  • Understanding of Engineering principles, Construction Design Management (CDM) guidelines, and working knowledge of Cabling Installation techniques.
  • Recognised SHE qualification such as Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) or National Examination Board in Occupational Safety & Health (NEBOSH).
  • Ability to lead and build project teams.
  • Ability to work away from home when required and to hold a full driving licence.
