Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Maintenance Specialist to join our team at DS Smith Fordham. As a key member of our Engineering function, you will play a critical role in delivering a world-class service in a fast-paced environment to delight our customers and grow our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all site manufacturing and equipment is fully compliant with respect to technical safety legislation, testing and inspections.
  • Track, analyze and report asset reliability performance and issues to identify maintenance and equipment improvement needs.
  • Lead on asset and equipment technical issues, resolution through fault finding and problem solving with the support of manufacturing resources, OEM's and contract service providers.
  • Identify critical spares, order and maintain inventory to agreed stock levels.
  • Maintain site and equipment housekeeping in compliance to agreed standards.
  • Support capital project plans including site preparation work, equipment installation and commissioning, technical training and planning and scheduling of asset life-cycle plans.
  • Provide hands-on technical support for site improvement initiatives.
  • Occasionally cover 12-hour shifts.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a fully qualified multi-skilled maintenance technician, accredited to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or BTEC. You should have experience of PPM implementation, delivery and control with a demonstrable background in a maintenance environment. Other essential attributes include good working knowledge of continuous improvement/operational training excellence such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing and Root Cause Problem Solving techniques and experience gained within a fast-paced, multi-shift manufacturing environment.

Desirable Attributes:

SAP experience would be advantageous. We are looking for a candidate who has a genuine interest in people with well-developed listening and communication skills, a proactive approach and strong prioritization skills. This is a hands-on role, and candidates must be willing to muck in as part of a team when needed.

Working Hours:

This is a day shift role, Monday to Friday, 8am-16:30, with occasional shift cover to support where required.
