Site Engineering Technician

We're seeking a skilled Site Engineering Technician to join our team at DS Smith Fordham. This role is critical to delivering a world-class service in a fast-paced environment, ensuring safe operation and equipment reliability to meet production demands.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all site manufacturing and equipment comply with technical safety legislation, testing, and inspections.
  • Track, analyze, and report asset reliability performance and issues to identify maintenance and equipment improvement needs.
  • Lead on asset and equipment technical issues, resolving through fault finding and problem solving with the support of manufacturing resources, OEMs, and contract service providers.
  • Identify critical spares, order, and maintain inventory to agreed stock levels.
  • Maintain site and equipment housekeeping in compliance with agreed standards.
  • Support capital project plans, including site preparation work, equipment installation, and commissioning.
  • Provide hands-on technical support for site improvement initiatives.
  • Occasional 12-hour shift cover.
Requirements:
  • Fully qualified multi-skilled maintenance technician, accredited to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or BTEC.
  • Experience of PPM implementation, delivery, and control, with a demonstrable background in a maintenance environment.
  • Good working knowledge of continuous improvement/operational training excellence, such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and Root Cause Problem Solving techniques.
  • Experience gained within a fast-paced, multi-shift manufacturing environment.
  • SAP experience is advantageous.
What We Offer:

This is a mainly day shift role, Monday to Friday 8am-16:30, with occasional shift cover to support where required. We're looking for a candidate with a genuine interest in people, well-developed listening and communication skills, a proactive approach, and strong prioritization skills.
