We are seeking a dedicated and patient Learning Support Assistant to join our team. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with individuals who may require additional support to achieve their qualifications and develop their skills while learning.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to learners with varying needs and abilities.
  • Assist learners with recording work and developing study and organizational skills.
  • Help learners stay on task and build motivation.
  • Model good practice and build learner confidence and self-esteem.
  • Collaborate with tutors to contribute to lesson planning and activities.
  • Prepare learners for tasks and work with identified groups on differentiated activities.
  • Support the tutor in implementing specific instructions and supervise practical tasks.
  • Keep records and evaluate learner progress, supporting the creation of individual learning plans.
  • Provide one-to-one support to learners and act as a key worker to specific learners.
  • Liaise with team members to ensure learners achieve their targets and progress towards appropriate outcomes.
  • Read and analyze EHCPs to identify learning needs and ensure resources are in place.
  • Provide learners with encouragement, guidance, and support to help them progress.
  • Complete documentation accurately and within agreed timescales.
  • Create conducive learning environments to optimize learner journeys and support positive outcomes.
  • Ensure your own CPD is up to date as per the requirements for your subject area.
  • Take into account learner special needs and ensure access to lessons and content through clarification, explanations, equipment, and materials.
  • Build and maintain successful relationships with learners, treating them consistently with respect and consideration.
  • Help promote independent learning.
