SEN Teaching Assistant Opportunity

Create Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Lewisham. This role offers a great place to work with an exciting curriculum and a supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with the teacher to establish a suitable learning environment for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • Keep and update records as agreed with the teacher
  • Monitor and evaluate pupils' responses and progress against action plans through observation
  • Assist in developing and implementing behaviour management strategies for learners with ASD
  • Attend and participate in regular meetings
  • Support diversity and ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop
  • Attend to pupils' personal needs and provide advice to assist in their social, health, and hygiene development
  • Supervise pupils at times when they may not be able to work to a normal timetable
Requirements:
  • Experience working with SEN, particularly students with ASD
  • English and Maths qualification at GCSE level or above
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexibility and reliability, high levels of motivation, imagination, and enthusiasm to promote strong and effective teamwork
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils
