Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems, from concept through to production. You will work closely with other disciplines to integrate and deliver complex engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems using major CAD systems (e.g. CATIA V5)
  • Produce detailed drawings to a high standard with the correct application of GD&T as necessary
  • Take ownership of mechanical systems, from concept through to production
  • Work closely with other disciplines to integrate and deliver complex engineering solutions
  • Prepare BOM's and other project documents to fulfil project and process requirements
  • Support the development of junior team members

Requirements

  • Experience designing mechanical components and systems
  • Experience in a major CAD system (e.g. CATIA V5)
  • Sound theoretical and practical approach to engineering solutions
  • Ability to integrate and work closely with other disciplines
  • Preparation of BOM's and other project documents
  • Experience in supporting the development of junior team members

Desirable Skills

  • Background in automotive or aerospace design
  • Experience in dealing directly with customers and suppliers
  • Project management experience
  • Ability to work with skilled technicians to support the build and development of parts, sub-assemblies and vehicle builds
  • Experience of rig and vehicle testing for development and sign off
  • Knowledge of simulation tools and using them to accelerate development
