Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems, from concept through to production. You will work closely with our cross-functional team to deliver high-quality solutions that meet our customers' needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems using major CAD systems (e.g. CATIA V5)
  • Produce detailed drawings to a high standard with the correct application of GD&T as necessary
  • Take ownership of mechanical systems, from concept through to production
  • Work closely with other disciplines to integrate and deliver high-quality solutions
  • Prepare BOM's and other project documents to fulfil project and process requirements
  • Support the development of junior team members

Requirements

  • Experience designing mechanical components and systems
  • Experience in a major CAD system (e.g. CATIA V5)
  • Sound theoretical and practical approach to engineering solutions
  • Ability to integrate and work closely with other disciplines
  • Preparation of BOM's and other project documents
  • Experience in supporting the development of junior team members

Desirable Skills

  • Background in automotive or aerospace design
  • Experience in dealing directly with customers and suppliers
  • Project management experience
  • Ability to work with skilled technicians to support the build and development of parts, sub-assemblies and vehicle builds
  • Experience of rig and vehicle testing for development and sign off
  • Knowledge of simulation tools and using them to accelerate development
