We are seeking a highly skilled Research Engineer to join our team at Eligo Recruitment Ltd. As a Research Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and fine-tuning language models to ensure their quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Fine-tune language models using both full parameter and parameter-efficient methods to achieve specific quality and safety benchmarks.
- Create a comprehensive evaluation framework with datasets and metrics tailored to various use cases.
- Collaborate with founders, advisors, and top-tier researchers to address complex AI alignment challenges.
- Build and lead our applied research organisation, setting a high standard of excellence.
- Tackle some of the toughest engineering challenges in the field of LLMs in production.
- Expertise in training and evaluating language models on GPUs, ideally using PyTorch.
- Proven experience in productionising and optimising large-scale ML systems, particularly LLMs.
- Strong software engineering background with proficiency in software design and architecture, preferably in Python.
- Ability to distil complex research ideas into practical applications.
- Experience in elite AI research environments (e.g., top AI labs).
- Familiarity with high-stakes ML domains such as self-driving cars, search, ads, or quantitative finance.
- Competitive salary: £100K - £160K GBP
