Science Solutions Recruitment is on the lookout for a passionate and skilled peptide chemist with a strong background in peptide-related projects. This role is particularly suited for candidates who have recently completed their Masters or PhD programs. The position involves collaboration on a significant project, working alongside a dedicated team of scientists focused on critical health issues such as heart disease, diabetes, and obesity.

As a key contributor to this project, you will have the chance to apply your expertise in peptide design, synthesis, and assay development. You will also collaborate closely with biologists to conduct both in vitro and in vivo testing, ensuring a comprehensive approach to research.

This position is offered on a 12-month contract basis, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role depending on your performance.

  • Design and develop peptides
  • Synthesize peptides using both automated and manual techniques
  • Perform cleavage of peptides from supports
  • Conduct analysis using HPLC and mass spectrometry
  • Purify peptides through preparative HPLC
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate results effectively
  • Engage in data analysis and project planning
  • Organize investigations and follow-up activities

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a recent PhD graduate with a strong interest in Peptide Chemistry, possessing the following qualifications:

  • PhD in Chemistry
  • Experience or knowledge in Peptide Chemistry through academic or industry projects
  • Excellent record-keeping abilities
  • Familiarity with computational modeling (preferred)
  • Availability to commence work immediately
