Job Title: Clerk of Works

We are seeking a highly skilled Clerk of Works to join our team at Brackenberry Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and checking traffic works carried out on site by the term maintenance contractor on behalf of Climate Change and Transport within Islington Council.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise contractors to ensure compliance with works orders, design drawings, specifications, and engineers' instructions.
  • Attend work sites daily, conduct site surveys, and site inspections as directed by line management.
  • Assess the work of contractors on completion to ensure that all work is satisfactorily completed and record all snagging and defects.
  • Contribute to the improvement of the service by offering advice on construction processes and procedures.
  • Meet contractors regularly to ensure project delivery.
Requirements:
  • MICWCI Member of the Institute of Clerk of Works and Construction Inspectorate of GB, or equivalent professional qualification, and/or demonstrable extensive relevant experience.
  • HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or relevant City and Guilds Qualification or demonstrable equivalent related to practical engineering construction work.
  • Experience in overseeing the delivery of small to large traffic projects.
