Job Title: Clerk of Works

We are seeking a skilled Clerk of Works to join our team at James Andrews Recruitment Solutions Ltd. The ideal candidate will have experience working within social housing and possess a strong understanding of capital investment programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Contracts Team to deliver Capital Investment Programmes across domestic properties
  • Conduct thorough pre-, mid-, and post-work inspections within domestic properties
  • Assess the standard and quality of work during and after works, recommending remedial action where required
  • Ensure contractors and operatives work safely, in line with regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Check contractor payment claims, quantities, and quality against actual onsite works
  • Report findings and any shortfallings to Contract Management

Requirements:

  • Previous experience of working within Social Housing or Local Government in a Clerk of Works capacity
  • A background of working on capital investment and planned works projects
  • Ability to conduct thorough pre-, mid-, and post-work inspections within domestic properties

Working Arrangements:

The position is due to start immediately on a part-time basis for 2.5 days per week. The ideal candidate will have access to their own vehicle and be able to work flexibly, with a choice of days between Monday and Friday.
