We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Young Adults Peer Support Specialist to join our Mental Health Integrated Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) Team. As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to young adults navigating the transition from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) to adult services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide formalized peer support to service users through one-on-one sessions and group facilitation.
  • Collaborate with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to develop personalized transition plans and promote personal responsibility.
  • Advocate for service users' interests and views when accessing local community and statutory services.
  • Utilize your lived experience to build rapport with service users and facilitate access to community groups and networks.
  • Help individuals identify and set achievable recovery goals, supporting the creation of Dialog+ assessments.

Requirements
  • Lived experience of mental health problems and experience of using secondary care services.
  • Experience working autonomously and in a team or group environment.
  • Knowledge of using self-management or recovery tools and techniques.
  • Understanding and practical knowledge of mental health recovery.
