Senior Quality Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Engineer to join our team in Bridgwater. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for leading the provision of training and guidance for nuclear safety to project teams and suppliers. Your expertise will be instrumental in managing legacy quality paperwork for designated projects and leading weekly meetings to provide quality progress.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the review and update of quality documents and processes to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Manage the conduct of weekly inspections, including onsite inspections, to identify and address quality issues.
  • Monitor and follow up on the progression of non-conformance reports to ensure timely resolution.
  • Review and approve compiled quality reports before submission to stakeholders.
  • Manage the quality tracker to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Raise surveillance observation notifications when required to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a culture of Right First Time and Nuclear Safety within project teams.
  • Perform statistical analysis on identified deviations and provide feedback to improve quality processes.
  • Provide senior guidance and support on quality deliverables to project teams.
  • Manage the compilation and submission of Lifetime Quality Record Packs.
  • Identify and raise non-conformances to ensure timely resolution.
  • Produce quality installation record maps to support project delivery.
  • Review test results and certificates for compliance with industry standards.
  • Act as a point of contact for all quality-related matters.
  • Oversee the upload of as-built drawings from the team.
  • Line management, coaching, and mentoring responsibilities to ensure the development of quality team members.
Requirements:
  • Computer literacy, including Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A degree in an engineering or science discipline.
  • Minimum five years' experience in a construction or heavy industry.
  • Experience of using Fieldview.
  • Strong knowledge of civil construction.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Demonstratable understanding of British Standards.
  • Knowledge and experience of ISO 9001:2015.
  • Understanding of QRA 1, QRA 2, and QRA 3 works.
  • Internal auditing experience.
