About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Practitioner to join our team at YMCA Nursery Newport. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality childcare and education to children aged 4 months to 5 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging indoor and outdoor activities that promote learning and development in children.
  • Support children's emotional and social needs, and work closely with parents and colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes for each child.
  • Contribute to the creation of a safe and nurturing environment that encourages children to thrive and reach their full potential.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge, and contribute to the growth and success of the nursery.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of the nursery and the delivery of high-quality care and education.

Requirements:

  • A Level 2/3 childcare qualification or relevant experience is desirable.
  • A commitment to providing high-quality childcare, including physical care and hygienic practice for children aged 4 months to 5 years.
  • An understanding of the developmental needs of children, the Statutory Framework, and relevant legislation.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety and a willingness to undertake further training as required.
  • A Paediatric First Aid qualification or a willingness to train.
