About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team at South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Ethnicity, Mental Health Improvement Programme (EMHIP) and ensuring its successful implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Programme Management
    • Develop and implement policies, processes, and improvement schemes using project management tools.
    • Collect, maintain, and monitor relevant data and placement information.
    • Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and benefits realisation metrics.
    • Develop robust project plans, identify key risks and issues, and provide regular updates.
  • Host Family Support
    • Recruit and engage with host families and potential candidates from the public and community organisations.
    • Support and supervise host families, working with the Wandsworth Home Treatment Team and CMHTs.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Monitor, facilitate, and promote the scheme within mental health services and allied agencies.
    • Attend management and clinical meetings and facilitate discussions for host family referrals.
  • Change Management
    • Lead change management efforts and support project/programme teams in achieving milestones.
Requirements
  • Essential Qualifications
    • Post Graduate Diploma/Project management qualification or equivalent.
    • Project management qualification or equivalent.
  • Desirable Qualifications
    • Related qualification in nursing/ or mental health and social care.
  • Essential Experience
    • Experience of service planning and delivery.
    • Working with different stakeholders and bringing about change.
    • Experience of working in health/social care or community agencies.
    • Experience of managing staff, volunteers, and service budgets.
    • Experience of preparing performance reports and presenting to wide audiences.
    • Experience of working in a multi-cultural setting and with diverse client groups.
    • Understanding of mental health and mental health care.
    • Understanding of ethnic inequalities in mental health care and impact of culture and racism in mental health.
    • Understanding of the way that systemic and individual racism discrimination and bias lead to inequality and injustice.
  • Desirable Experience
    • Lived experience of mental health problems.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent people skills, including the ability to develop relationships and resolving interpersonal conflict.
    • Good influencing and negotiating skills.
    • Good oral and written communication skills.
    • Able to relate to a diverse community and respect differences among service users and across the professional network.
    • Ability to work in a team and in partnership with internal and external partners.
    • Ability to deal with challenging situations.
    • Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and manage workload.
    • Ability to analyse data and write reports to a high standard.
    • Ability to identify and resolve problems, review options and take appropriate action without a predetermined framework.
