About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Infrastructure Lead to join our team at Babcock International Group. As a key member of our Mission Systems department, you will play a critical role in overseeing the successful progression and completion of Dreadnought Strategic Weapon System Training Infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

As our Project Infrastructure Lead, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating with UK and US government agencies and contractors to ensure the successful delivery of training infrastructure.
  • Defining, costing, bounding, and managing essential training infrastructure and material tasks to deliver a training solution fit for the future.
  • Investigating the current planning and status of the procuring, building, and commissioning of training and training support facilities, and reporting to key stakeholders.
  • Identifying, reporting, and mitigating risks by working with the team to create plans to succeed.
  • Acting as the Training Point of Contact to wider communities, including support to parent Mission Systems team on Dreadnought Common Missile Compartment (CMC) Training matters.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical and project requirements to stakeholders.
  • Experience with project management tools and policy, project controls, life cycles, schedules, and risks.
  • Experience with submarine / maritime in-service support.
  • Experience of the Submarine Weapon Systems and related platform systems (Vanguard and /or Dreadnought). Strategic Weapon Support Systems experience is highly desirable.

Qualifications

You will need to have:

  • A Higher National Diploma, Higher National Certificate or BTEC National Certificate/Diploma in engineering or project management.
  • Actively working towards membership with a professional engineering or project body.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) / security clearance for this role.
