About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and engaging Volunteer Reader to join our team at SeeAbility. As a Volunteer Reader, you will have the opportunity to form meaningful connections with individuals who require support and companionship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visit individuals in their homes and engage in conversation, sharing news and stories.
  • Read aloud to individuals, promoting literacy and a love of reading.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals, enhancing their overall well-being.

Requirements

  • Be kind, empathetic, and friendly, with a good sense of humour.
  • Have a keen interest in reading and books.
  • Be punctual and reliable, with a commitment to regular visits.
  • Be able to deal with confidential information in line with our data protection procedures.
