Kier Group is on the lookout for a Lead Project Scheduler to join our esteemed Design team, contributing to pivotal projects in the nuclear sector.
Location: North of England
Contract: Permanent, Full Time - Flexible hybrid working options available with a minimum of 3 days on-site each week.
Key Responsibilities:
In the role of Lead Project Scheduler, you will be an integral part of the Nuclear Major Projects team, focusing on a high-profile energy initiative that emphasizes nuclear-grade reinforced concrete and infrastructure. Initially, your efforts will be directed towards a specific project until its successful completion, after which you will transition to other significant nuclear projects within our Natural Resources, Nuclear, and Networks division. Your expertise will be crucial in managing large-scale reinforced concrete construction projects, with a strong emphasis on change management and program development under NEC contracts.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the planning processes for executing an NEC Option C contract related to the construction of a reinforced concrete structure.
- Creating and refining project schedules, including acceptance programs, impact assessments, weekly forecasts, control dashboards, and detailed reports.
- Analyzing project performance metrics, particularly work rates, to ensure precise tracking of critical program milestones displayed in project dashboards.
- Collaborating with the commercial team to produce accurate forecasts leading up to project completion, focusing on labor and material resource planning.
What we are looking for in a Lead Project Scheduler:
This position is ideal for candidates who possess:
- Proven experience in planning within the framework of UK NEC contracts.
- Knowledge of reinforced concrete construction methodologies.
- A background in construction across diverse engineering projects, with a solid understanding of commercial and contractual dynamics.
- The capability to lead and influence planning, scheduling, and risk management from the tender phase through to project delivery.
