Mechanical Design Engineer - Machine Design

Location: Birmingham

Salary: Up to £50k

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at MDE Consultants Ltd. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge food packaging and processing machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop machinery that meets performance, operational, and cost specifications.
  2. Create top-quality designs and drawings that consider all impacts on the business.
  3. Manage design projects, ensuring milestones are met on time and within budget.
  4. Work closely with all departments to ensure smooth transitions from design to documentation, prototyping, and production.
  5. Stay up-to-date with the latest technical and industry knowledge to stay ahead in the field.
  6. Travel to customer sites and company locations to support and enhance equipment development.

About You:

  1. Qualifications: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 3 years in design, particularly in special purpose machine design or manufacturing.
  3. Problem Solver: Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving design challenges.
