Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £22,000 per annum, which increases as you progress through the apprenticeship program. You will also receive a competitive benefits package and performance-related bonuses upon successful completion of the program.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Service Technician Apprentice. As one of the largest car companies in the world, we offer a unique chance to develop your career while working alongside some of Britain's brightest young talent.

  • You will earn while you learn, with a competitive annual salary from day one.
  • You will receive training on a residential block release basis at the ProVQ Training Centre in Shrewsbury and the Toyota/Lexus Academy in Burnaston, Derbyshire.
  • You will gain the Apprenticeship Standard Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (Light Vehicle) Level 3 qualification upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Be eligible to work in the UK.
  • Have GCSE Maths & English, and IT skills (desirable).
Main Duties

Your main duties will include:

  • Participating fully in all scheduled activities, including training at the Toyota/Lexus Academy and the Atcham Training Centre.
  • Keeping all your learning activities up to date and ensuring you are prepared for learner reviews with your Manager, Mentor & Learning & Development Advisor.
  • Carrying out foundation tasks common to all service and repair procedures.
  • Contributing to a safe and efficient workshop environment.
  • Accessing information such as wiring diagrams, technical data, and vehicle repair information.
  • Using complex diagnostic, mechanical, and electrical measuring equipment.
  • Inspecting and preparing vehicles to high-quality industry standards.
  • Removing, repairing/replacing components to manufacturer's specification.
  • Investigating vehicle faults and identifying their underlying causes.
  • Applying advanced diagnostic principles and logical problem-solving techniques using diagnostic tools and standard testing regimes.
  • Getting involved in activities that raise the profile of the dealership, such as those in the community promoting the Lexus brand and attracting new customers.
