Job Summary


We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team at Elysium Healthcare. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents, staff, and visitors.


Key Responsibilities



  • Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, ensuring that meals are prepared and served to a consistently high standard.
  • Maintain good food storage procedures and stock rotation, adhering to established protocols.
  • Prepare, plan, and cook meals that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, serving food and beverages in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Participate in food costings and contribute to effective cost control procedures.
  • Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Take full shift responsibility for the catering operation, ensuring that meals are prepared and served on time.
  • Assist the Head Chef in researching and creating new menus that meet the nutritional needs and preferences of our residents.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork, including food temperature logs and cleaning schedules, as per the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) system.

Requirements



  • Be 18 years or older
  • Hold GCSE or equivalent English
  • Hold City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) Basic Food Preparation and Cooking qualifications
  • Hold Basic Food Hygiene certification
  • Hold Intermediate Food Hygiene certification (desirable)
  • Have previous experience in a similar environment
  • Have previous experience in delivering a service on a large scale
  • Have experience in menu planning, costing, ordering, stock control, and budget management
