Job Title: Senior Accountant (Pensions & Treasury)

Hatched Recruitment Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in the Haringey area.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Accountant with expertise in pensions and treasury management to support the Head of Pensions and Treasury in providing accounting and reporting services for the authority's pension fund and treasury management functions.

Key Responsibilities:Pensions Accounting:
  • Manage pension fund accounting, including the preparation and reconciliation of pension fund statements.
  • Oversee the calculation and disbursement of pension payments.
  • Ensure compliance with pension regulations and reporting requirements.
Treasury Management:
  • Manage treasury functions including cash flow forecasting, bank reconciliations, and investment tracking.
  • Monitor and report on liquidity, ensuring sufficient funds are available for operational and capital requirements.
  • Liaise with banks and financial institutions to manage and optimize the organization's financial assets.
Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare and present financial reports related to pensions and treasury, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.
Audit and Compliance:
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Implement and monitor compliance with internal financial policies and procedures.
Team Leadership:
  • Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.
  • Ensure continuous improvement in processes and systems related to pensions and treasury functions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on pensions and/or treasury functions.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
