Nursery Practitioner Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our team at an outstanding nursery in London SW20.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To design and implement engaging indoor and outdoor play experiences for children, aligning with the nursery's policies and the Early Years Foundation Stage guidelines.
  • To collaborate with the Lead Practitioner in planning and delivering activities that promote children's learning and development.
  • To maintain a safe and secure environment for children, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being at all times.
  • To report any incidents, accidents, or concerns regarding child safety and welfare to the Lead Practitioner and/or Manager.
  • To provide first aid and inform the Manager as necessary.
  • To work effectively with colleagues to achieve a positive and supportive team dynamic.
  • To adhere to safeguarding, child protection, and safer working practices at all times, reporting any concerns to the line manager or senior management.
  • To prioritize personal and others' safety at all times.
  • To attend training sessions and staff meetings as required.
  • To support and supervise students in the nursery, offering guidance and advice on assessments.
  • To inform the Manager if staffing levels are compromised due to an emergency.
  • To stay up-to-date with current childcare issues, legislation, and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare.
  • Understanding of children's developmental needs.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding good practice.
  • 2 years of childcare experience.
  • Qualified Early Years Practitioner.
  • Knowledge of health and safety and ability to complete risk assessments (or willingness to train).
  • Paediatric First Aid.

Location: London SW20

Salary: £23,795.20 – £28,840.00 (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Hours: 40 – 42.5 hours, Monday to Friday
