Job Title: Child Care and Nursery Early Years Practitioner

Bolfracks is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Practitioner to join our team at our Basingstoke nursery. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to our children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a Room as a Key Worker: Take charge of your own little world within the nursery, guiding the daily adventures of a group of children and being their hero in the playroom.
  • Create Fun and Educational Activities: Design activities that engage the children's senses, spark their curiosity, and encourage them to explore the world in new and exciting ways.
  • Keep a Record of Children's Progress: Track and celebrate each milestone, big or small, and document the children's growth, achievements, and quirky moments to share with parents and carers.
  • Build and Maintain Relationships with Parents/Carers: Be the friendly face that parents look forward to seeing every day, maintaining open communication and creating a seamless partnership between home and nursery.
  • Support Your Team Members: Collaborate with your colleagues, brainstorming new ideas for activities and lending a helping hand to ensure a supportive and uplifting team environment.
  • Create a Happy and Stable Environment: Craft an environment where every child feels safe, happy, and included, taking into account their cultural backgrounds and medical needs.
  • Confidently Handle Concerns: Handle any concerns related to children or parents with sensitivity and professionalism, adhering to confidentiality requirements.
  • Adhere to Policies and Procedures: Ensure that all nursery policies, procedures, and legislative requirements are followed to maintain the highest standards for safety, cleanliness, and hygiene.
Person Specification:
  • Expert in Assessments: Administer and implement assessments, support plans, and risk assessments with precision and care, ensuring every child receives the support they need.
  • Understanding of Child Development: Have a deep understanding of children's developmental, emotional, physical, and intellectual needs, which will be the cornerstone of your approach to care and learning.
  • Physical Fitness: Have the stamina and physical fitness to lift and handle children and equipment safely, ensuring everyone stays active and engaged.
  • Team Player: Thrive in a team environment, always ready to contribute and support your colleagues.
  • Calm and Caring Nature: Have a calm demeanour and caring personality that inspires the children and creates a comforting atmosphere in the nursery.
  • Knowledge of EYFS and Ofsted Requirements: Have a solid understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Ofsted requirements, ensuring that all practices align with best standards.
