Fire Safety Engineer

You will be part of a dynamic and multicultural team at TRACTEBEL UK, supporting projects localised in the UK. Our mission is to promote TRACTEBEL as a key player in the nuclear business in the UK.

As a Junior Fire Safety Specialist, you will be in charge of fire safety activities, including feasibility studies, design studies, and audits of fire protection installations. You will work closely with Project Managers, Fire Experts, and Clients to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.

Your Role

  • Participate in feasibility studies, design studies, and modification studies of fire protection installations.
  • Participate in audits and diagnostics of fire protection installations.
  • Perform internal fire, explosion, and flooding calculation and simulation studies.
  • Determine suitable and pragmatic recommendations for fire safety.
  • Validate the coherence between required and existing protection/detection means.
  • Check study compliance with on-site situation and include Return of Experience (REX) and draft reports.
  • Determine and recommend suitable on-site adaptations.
  • Present and share analyses with the client.
  • Ensure budget, planning, and studies scope are compliant with project and client requirements.

Your Profile

  • You have a drive to become a technical expert in fire safety.
  • You recently graduated from university with a relevant master's degree in engineering.
  • You are familiar with fire safety and/or fluid mechanics modelling.
  • You are proficient with calculation and simulation software.
  • You master the English language.
  • You hold or are eligible to hold BPSS level clearance.
  • You possess good computer and data processing skills.
  • You are able to draft reports and technical papers.
