We're looking for an experienced Platform Architect to work closely with key stakeholders to understand and prioritise key platform capabilities, maintain our data capability framework, and lead the safe evolution of our technical architecture to meet our evolving needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a structured approach to capturing and prioritising key capabilities for M&S Data Platform.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand their needs and help them specify capabilities and evaluation criteria for existing and potential tooling.
  • Provide marketplace assessment of available tools, present options, support proofs of technology, and make tooling recommendations.
  • Apply standard considerations to support tooling assessments, including scalability, availability, resilience, portability, security, and more.
  • Interact with the M&S enterprise architecture community to ensure the data portfolio remains aligned with enterprise decisions and feed into enterprise discussions.

Requirements

  • Experience of using a structured approach to tooling assessment and selection.
  • Familiarity with the capabilities required to provide a secure, scalable, performant, functionally-rich data platform.
  • Understanding of analytics and reporting best practices and technologies, data engineering best practices and technologies, data governance best practices and technologies, and enterprise security requirements and techniques.
  • Experience of presenting technology proposals to non-technical senior stakeholders.
