Section Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Section Engineer to join our team in Plymouth. As a key member of our Major Projects team, you will be responsible for managing and driving the training and development of our Site Engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of engineers on various projects, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to subordinates on setting out techniques and translating works information into site settings.
  • Have a strong understanding of robotic surveying equipment and be able to support and ensure that works are constructed in accordance with contract drawings, specifications, and project execution plans.
  • Raise and track technical queries, produce method statements and risk assessments, and prepare temporary works briefs.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of a HNC/Degree or equivalent, and a full UK driving license.
  • Proven people and project management skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with clients, client representatives, and the general public.
  • Experience working on civil engineering projects and managing a team, with a strong understanding of safety and environmental legislation.
  • A team player with organizational skills, able to work on own initiative and contribute to the company's success.
