At Babcock International Group, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together. As a Marine Engineer Section Head, you'll play a critical role in delivering complex deep maintenance periods for the Royal Navy's Landing ships.

The Role

As a Marine Engineer Section Head, you'll be responsible for conducting maintenance on a wide range of systems and acting as the point of contact for those systems. You'll liaise with external and internal stakeholders to deliver or coordinate trials as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining mechanical and electrical systems and equipment
  • Engaging with outgoing and incoming ships staff teams to accept and handover equipment
  • Operating and setting to work equipment and systems within the section
  • Identifying and rectifying defects
  • Accepting equipment from contractors ensuring that all contracted work is complete to the required standard

Essential Experience:

  • An experienced Marine Engineer with a track record of successful section management and delivering change
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to interact at all levels
  • A good understanding of systems engineering and be agile and adaptable
  • High voltage or heavy electrical system section experience is desirable

Qualifications:

  • HNC qualified or equivalent in an engineering specialisation with significant demonstrable experience

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
