Fire Engineering Technical Director

SOCOTEC UK Limited is seeking a highly skilled Technical Director to lead our Fire Engineering team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the technical excellence and delivery of Fire Engineering services.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide high-quality fire engineering services to our customers, including third-party reviews and design verification.
- Develop innovative solutions to enhance safety and resilience in fire engineering.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation and design guidance, such as Approved Document B (ADB), BS 9999, BS 9991, and BS 7974.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external teams to achieve project goals.
- Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and staff.
- Contribute to the development of the fire engineering team and drive technical excellence.
- Ensure compliance with SOCOTEC systems and policies.
- Maintain strong client relationships and identify business development opportunities.
- Manage external collaborators and contribute to sustainable development.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (mechanical, structural, civil, or similar field).
- Postgraduate fire engineering qualification (certificate, diploma, masters, or PHD).
- Full membership with the IFE (Institution of Fire Engineers).
- Chartership (CEng) with the IFE.
- At least eight years' experience in fire safety engineering, preferably in the UK.
- Strong knowledge of CFD modelling and smoke control management.
- Self-motivated, able to prioritize, and work on own initiative.
- Numerate, organized, and attention to detail.
- Professional appearance and behavior.
- Flexible and adaptable to meet customer needs and changing priorities.
