Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Wabtec UK Ltd in Northampton. As a key member of our manufacturing engineering team, you will be responsible for developing, verifying, and validating new and existing processes to ensure the highest quality products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement new manufacturing processes and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Work closely with operations teams to monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement continuous improvement projects.
  • Resolve manufacturing problems using data and root cause analysis tools.
  • Implement lean manufacturing and kaizen principles throughout the manufacturing processes.
  • Determine production times, resource requirements, and costs.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance department to ensure production equipment is properly maintained.
Requirements:
  • Relevant manufacturing or engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience with FMEA, Kaizen/A3, and Poka Yoke techniques.
  • Understanding of design and production costs, including waste, downtime, scrap, and rework.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Legal authorization to work in the UK.
