About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Senior Project Officer - Community Engagement. This is a part-time position, working 21 hours per week, with a focus on strengthening links between communities and the council in Birmingham.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and grow the Community Reporter Network in Birmingham, including training and supporting Community Reporters.
  • Scope opportunities for the gathered lived experience evidence to be mobilized in Birmingham, building relationships with stakeholders.
  • Link Community Reporters with economic justice work, both within the Equality Trust and with external partners.
  • Attend Economic Justice Alliance meetings and develop opportunities for co-delivery of information sessions.
  • Evaluate the project and work with Co-Executive Directors to write funder reports.
Requirements
  • Proven history of community engagement and capacity building with diverse groups in Birmingham.
  • Experience of providing one-to-one support to people who have been disempowered.
  • Ability to develop and sustain projects with limited supervision.
  • Experience of developing training materials and facilitating training.
  • Strong understanding of the impact of structural inequalities on people and communities.
