Electrical Operations Manager

As an Electrical Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting our technicians working on HV networks remotely, as well as conducting regular site visits to deliver training, QA, and operational tasks. Your primary responsibility will be to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their business needs and managing our HV partner framework operations. This includes scheduling PM, tracking work, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting. You will have in-depth knowledge of DC, LV, and HV systems, circuit protection, and be able to diagnose issues remotely. All electrical work must adhere to industry standards and good Health and Safety practices. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • General management of day-to-day operations
  • Management of HV contractors, including SSE and HVPS
  • Management of contractors for HVPM
  • Control engineer duties and field team support
  • Continuation and increase of management of O&M corrective projects, involving contractors
  • Supporting the HV lead with AP training as and when required
  • Developing and maintaining contractor relationships
  • Training and support with all new starters in the HV team
  • Corrective work project management
  • AP training and authorisation
  • HV project teamwork
  • Recognising issues and assessing risks
  • Keeping up to date with industry standards and technology, reporting findings to management
  • Participating in internal and external training
  • Ensuring compliance with Recurrent Energy health and safety policy
  • Investigating complaints and recommending corrective action as necessary to resolve complaints

Requirements:

  • Must hold 18th Edition Electrical Regulations qualification
  • Candidates preferably will be degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or be HNC qualified
  • Worked on large-scale solar projects
  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of DC Electrical systems
  • Must be hardworking, reliable, and flexible
