Roofer Role Overview

Maintain and repair roofs for Portsmouth City Council's housing and corporate assets, ensuring a safe and secure environment for residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake responsive and routine repairs to roofs, including pitch and flat roof repairs, and replacement of tiles, felt, and lead.
  • Support other maintenance contracts as required, working in various property portfolios, including social housing, schools, public conveniences, offices, heritage, and museums.
  • Work at occupied homes, buildings, and empty properties, ensuring minimal disruption to residents and staff.

Requirements

  • Be a competent tradesperson with the necessary tools and knowledge to perform the work.
  • Have a strong understanding of roofing materials and methods, as well as relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Hold a valid NVQ level 2-3 in roofing or equivalent qualification.
  • Possess a full, clean current driving license to operate company vehicles.
