About the Role

The UCL Eastman Dental Institute is seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team in the Neural Computation Lab. As a Research Scientist in Neural Circuits, you will work on an exciting project that aims to understand how sequences of neuronal activity are transmitted to and interpreted by downstream neurons during a memory task.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement optical approaches for interrogating populations of neurons during behavior using two-photon imaging and two-photon optogenetics.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative ideas and approaches for understanding neural circuits.
  • Collaborate with the research team to design and conduct experiments.
  • Analyze and interpret data to draw conclusions and inform future research directions.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a doctoral degree in neuroscience or a related field, with a strong background in systems neuroscience and/or neurophysiology. You will also have expertise in analytical skills and experimental approaches, as well as strong programming skills for hardware control and data analysis.
