Financial Controller Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our client, a highly successful SME located in the Calne area of Wiltshire. As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for leading the finance function and overseeing a team of two people who handle transactional activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Producing Monthly & Quarterly Management Accounts for 3 legal entities, including full commentary, insights, variance reports and recommendations
  • Responsible for producing Monthly / Quarterly / Annual Budgets and Forecasts
  • Implementing KPI Performance measures throughout the business and introducing weekly financial flash reports on Actual V Forecast
  • Responsible for Cashflow Forecasting & Management, sharing key insights with the Managing Director
  • Conducting Finance Business Partnering activities with the SLT by using key insights from the data to ensure financial efficiencies are achieved throughout the business
  • Producing financial models to assist new business proposals &enders
  • Reviewing all processes and systems to optimise efficiency, implement controls and improve profitability
  • Managing the Year End & External Audit process in conjunction with the external accountancy practice
  • Creating and submitting quarterly VAT Returns and other statutory requirements such as P11Ds, PSC Submissions and Annual Returns.
  • Overseeing and approving the monthly payroll process
  • Fully responsible for the balance sheet and the asset register
  • Oversee capital expenditure and financing arrangements
  • Manage annual insurance renewal and amendments.

Requirements:

  • Must have experience within an SME environment and have held a Financial Controller role, or similar role, such as; Finance Manager, Head of Finance, Finance Director.
  • ACCA, ACA or CIMA Qualified is preferred, however, exceptional QBE / Qualified by Experience candidates will be considered.
  • Good experience of Financial Modelling and Data Analysis
  • Experience of working with Sage is advantageous.
  • Confident around systems, an implementing new processes and controls
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to provide business partnering support to non-financial members of the Senior Leadership Team.
  • A highly driven and forward-thinking individual
