Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialist Nurse to join our Neurodevelopmental Services team. The successful candidate will work closely with our Autism and ADHD teams to provide safe and effective assessments for children, young people, and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with the neurodevelopmental pathway team to develop, implement, and monitor services for children, young people, and their families.
  • Be a key member of the ADHD multidisciplinary team, working closely with Consultant Paediatricians and other health professionals.
  • Conduct preliminary assessments of new referrals using agreed assessment tools and analyze the resulting information.
  • Act as an Advanced Nurse Prescriber for ADHD-related medicines, adhering to NMC, NICE, and national guidelines.
  • Implement a family-centred care approach, capturing the voice of the child and promoting involvement in decision-making.
  • Provide direct expert nursing judgement and treatment interventions based on highly developed skills and knowledge.
  • Work closely with families, schools, and other agencies to encourage implementation of behaviour management programmes and administration of medicine.
  • Be aware of child protection policies and take appropriate action where concerns are identified.
Person Specification
  • Registered Nurse BSc (Hons) Level 1 RGN or Equivalent
  • Evidence of continuous professional development within the last two years
  • Independent/ Supplementary prescriber (V300) to prescribe medication for ADHD diagnosed patients on team caseload
